Help a family feed their family: $25 for a 40lb bag of dog or cat food

family feed_edited_edited_edited_edited_

WNC families are still struggling to rebuild their lives after Hurricane Helene. Costs for basic goods have only gone up, which places families in a bind as to how their money is going to be spent. If a shelter calls us and says a community member is in need, we make sure dog or cat food is made available to them. Please consider donating so that beloved family members aren't separated by hardship.

Sponsor a dog or cat going on transport: $25

Our program offers transport services to Northern rescues free of charge to all of our shelters and rescues. Gas right now is a costly expense, but the bigger expense is losing a life just because we have nowhere for a shelter animal to go. For just $25 dollars you can cover a one-way ticket to freedom for a shelter animal in need of a second chance.

Sponsor a community spay/neuter surgery: $85

The surge of unwanted animals flooding into our shelter systems is preventable. The solution rests with ensuring our rural communities have access to spaying and neutering their pets. The SDTA runs a program in which our vans pick up community animals to make this an 'accessible' service. Please consider sponsoring a surgery so we can make this an 'affordable' option for families requesting help.

Save a puppy with parvo: $250

Parvo is a deadly virus that's widespread in the South. When puppies aren't properly vaccinated against it, they face certain death without intervention. The SDTA provides emergency funding to support puppies battling this disease by covering the cost of the Elanco monoclonal antibody treatment that increases their chances of survival. Countless innocent souls have been brought back to life and eventually transported North just because we said  - 'Yes, we can help'!

Have a heart - sponsor a dog's heartworm treatment: $500

Oftentimes dogs with medical issues are first to be put on the list for euthanasia simply because county shelters don't have the resources to care for them. This is where we step in. The SDTA pulls dogs in need for transport and rescue from all over the state regardless of any preexisting medical condition. No dog deserves to lose their life just because resources aren't there for them. Please considering supporting our shelter 'underdogs' that count on big hearts to give them the medical chance they deserve!

PLEASE NOTE:  The "DONATE" button goes to PayPal, so if you plan to make a large donation, please consider mailing a check to avoid bank fees (see our mailing address at the bottom of the page). All donations are tax deductible. EIN: #92-2980830
